Malahat History:
The Malahat was a five masted schooner. She sailed down the West Coast during Prohibition. Capable of carrying over 60,000 cases of spirits, tshe delivered more contraband liquor than any other ship in the Pacific. Anchoring off the coast of Southern California, she delivered her spirits to rum runners who would take the precious cargo to shore awaiting patrons. She quickly became known as "the Queen of Rum Row."
Collaboration:
Malahat and Bee Leaf USA have teamed up with the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina to create the first ever, Honey Barrel Whiskey created with honey that was procured on-site at the Marquis demonstrating truly sustainable operations of the property. Using honey soaked barrel to age the premium liquor, the whiskey was made special for the Marina Kitchen and is sold exclusively on property at the Marriott Marquis, compliments of the Marquis Bees!
